Bigin vs Freshsales: Which CRM Fits Your Team and Sales Process?

Compare Bigin and Freshsales by team size, pipeline, sales-sequence and territory requirements using verified annual-billing monthly-equivalent pricing.

If you are already comparing Bigin by Zoho CRM and Freshsales, the useful question is not which product wins a generic feature contest. It is which current plan fits your team size and the sales-process capabilities you actually require.

For a solo user with basic CRM needs, both products can legitimately cost $0. A two- or three-person basic team can stay on Freshsales Free. Larger basic teams move the advantage toward Bigin Express. But once you require dedicated native sales sequences or native territory management, the pairwise answer switches to Freshsales Pro.

Scope: a pairwise CRM decision, not the whole market

This guide covers Bigin and Freshsales for 1–20 full CRM users. It uses one monthly-equivalent pricing basis throughout: published per-user prices that require annual billing.

The modeled requirements are deliberately narrow: basic CRM use, more than one native sales pipeline, dedicated native sales sequences or cadences, and native territory management.

This is not an exhaustive CRM ranking. ChoiceSpec’s CRM calculator also covers Zoho CRM and Pipedrive, and either can change the overall result under the same requirements.

The short answer

One basic user

Bigin Free and Freshsales Free both qualify at $0. This is a legitimate tie, not a result that needs to be broken with reviews, popularity or subjective product preferences.

Two or three basic users

Freshsales Free is the pairwise fit because its permanent free plan supports up to three users. Bigin Free is limited to one user, so Bigin would move to Express.

Four to twenty basic users

Bigin Express is the lower pairwise paid floor at $7 per user per month billed annually. Freshsales Growth is $9 per user per month billed annually.

More than one native sales pipeline

Bigin Express is the lower qualifying pairwise plan from 1 through 20 users. It includes three team pipelines at $7 per user per month billed annually. Freshsales requires Pro at $39 per user per month for multiple pipelines under the current modeled gate.

Dedicated native sales sequences or cadences

Freshsales Pro is the only qualifying plan in this pair at $39 per user per month billed annually.

Bigin does support follow-up automation. Its current documentation shows that timed follow-up sequences can be built with workflow rules and scheduled actions. ChoiceSpec’s requirement is narrower: it asks whether the CRM provides a dedicated native sales-sequence or cadence feature rather than only generic workflow automation. Under that definition, Bigin does not qualify.

Native territory management

Freshsales Pro is again the only qualifying pairwise plan. Current Bigin editions do not provide the native territory-management feature modeled by ChoiceSpec.

Permanent free plans are real outcomes

Both products have permanent free plans, so a paid upgrade should not be forced when the requirements still fit.

Bigin Free is $0 for one user and one pipeline. Freshsales Free is $0 for up to three users.

That creates two useful boundaries. A solo buyer with basic needs can stay free on either product. A two- or three-user team with the same basic requirements can stay free on Freshsales, while Bigin would require a paid plan.

The free result stops being relevant when a hard feature requirement changes the plan floor. For example, a solo user who needs more than one native pipeline cannot stay on either free plan under this model; Bigin Express becomes the lower pairwise fit.

Basic paid teams: Bigin Express is lower from four users onward

Once a basic team grows beyond Freshsales Free’s three-user limit, both products require a paid plan.

Bigin Express costs $7 per user per month billed annually. Freshsales Growth costs $9 per user per month billed annually.

For a four-user team, that is $28 per month equivalent for Bigin Express versus $36 for Freshsales Growth. At ten users, it is $70 versus $90. The same per-user difference continues through ChoiceSpec’s 20-user range.

This does not make Bigin universally cheaper. It only establishes the lower pairwise floor for a basic team whose requirements do not trigger a higher feature gate.

Multiple native pipelines: Bigin Express changes the comparison immediately

If your team needs more than one native sales pipeline, Bigin’s paid plan floor is still Express.

Bigin Express includes three team pipelines at $7 per user per month billed annually. That means even a solo user who needs multiple pipelines moves from the $0 free tie to Bigin Express at $7.

Freshsales Growth currently provides one pipeline. The modeled multiple-pipeline requirement moves Freshsales to Pro, which supports multiple pipelines and costs $39 per user per month billed annually.

For this requirement, Bigin Express is therefore the lower pairwise fit from one through twenty users.

Dedicated sales sequences: automation and a native sequence feature are not the same gate

This is the semantic boundary most likely to be overstated.

Bigin can automate follow-up work. Its current FAQ describes building timed follow-up sequences with workflow rules and scheduled actions. Higher Bigin tiers add more workflow capacity and automation.

ChoiceSpec does not treat all workflow automation as equivalent to a dedicated sales-sequence or cadence feature. Its CRM gate asks specifically for a first-class native sequence or cadence capability.

Freshsales provides a dedicated Sales Sequences feature on Pro. Bigin’s current documentation does not establish an equivalent first-class sequence module across Free, Express, Premier or Bigin 360.

That means a buyer who explicitly requires dedicated native sales sequences or cadences moves to Freshsales Pro at $39 per user per month billed annually in this pair.

This is not a claim that Bigin lacks automation. It is a narrower feature-definition result.

Premier and Bigin 360 do not change the sequence result

The higher Bigin tiers were checked rather than ignored.

Premier is currently $12 per user per month billed annually with five team pipelines. Bigin 360 is $18 per user per month billed annually with fifteen team pipelines.

Those higher tiers add capacity and more advanced workflow automation, but the current evidence still does not establish a dedicated native Sales Sequences or cadence feature that satisfies ChoiceSpec’s gate.

So increasing the Bigin plan level does not change the pairwise result for a dedicated sequence requirement: Freshsales Pro remains the qualifying plan.

Native territory management: Freshsales Pro is the qualifying pairwise plan

The territory requirement produces the same provider-level switch for a different reason.

Freshsales Pro includes native territory management at $39 per user per month billed annually.

Bigin’s current edition comparison does not show native territory management on Free, Express, Premier or Bigin 360. Under the ChoiceSpec requirement, that leaves Freshsales Pro as the qualifying pairwise plan.

Again, the result should stay narrow. It does not mean every possible territory-like workflow is impossible in Bigin. It means the current Bigin tiers do not satisfy the specific native territory-management gate modeled here.

Do not manufacture a both-no-fit result

A demanding sales process can combine multiple pipelines, dedicated sequences and native territory management.

That does not produce a both-no-fit outcome in this comparison. Freshsales Pro satisfies all three modeled advanced requirements under the current evidence.

Bigin can remain the lower pairwise option for multiple pipelines alone, but once dedicated sequences or native territory management becomes mandatory, Freshsales Pro is the qualifying pairwise plan.

What this pairwise article cannot decide

Bigin and Freshsales are only two providers in ChoiceSpec’s current CRM calculator. The full calculator also evaluates Zoho CRM and Pipedrive using the same full-user and native-feature requirements.

That matters especially for sales sequences. Within this pair, Freshsales Pro at $39 per user is the qualifying choice because Bigin does not satisfy the dedicated native sequence gate. But in the broader four-provider calculator, Zoho CRM Standard currently satisfies the sequence requirement at $14 per user per month billed annually, below Freshsales Pro.

So a pairwise Freshsales result is not automatically the overall ChoiceSpec result. The article explains the Bigin-versus-Freshsales branch; the calculator resolves the wider four-provider decision.

What this comparison deliberately excludes

The prices and feature gates above cover the recurring CRM subscription model that ChoiceSpec can compare deterministically.

This article does not model AI or credit consumption, telephony, SMS or WhatsApp usage, marketing-contact economics, paid add-ons, mixed-seat licensing, or implementation and onboarding costs.

Those items can create separate usage charges, licensing structures or negotiated costs. They should not be mixed into these team-size and native-feature breakpoints without a separate verified model.

Use your actual CRM requirements for the final check

Before choosing, note your number of full CRM users and whether you need more than one native sales pipeline, dedicated native sales sequences or cadences, or native territory management.

Then use the ChoiceSpec CRM calculator to compare exact fit and the lowest covered annual-billing price across Bigin, Freshsales, Zoho CRM and Pipedrive →

Any merchant, trial, referral or affiliate action should come after that fit result, not before it.

Methodology, demand confidence and primary sources

ChoiceSpec uses current primary provider documentation and the production CRM model for these plan and feature gates. Prices in this guide use one annual-billing monthly-equivalent basis.

Current Bigin facts used here: Free is permanently $0 for one user and one pipeline; Express is $7 per user per month billed annually with three team pipelines; Premier is $12 with five team pipelines; and Bigin 360 is $18 with fifteen team pipelines. Bigin documents follow-up sequences through workflow rules and scheduled actions, while the current edition comparison does not establish native territory management across its tiers.

Current Freshsales facts used here: Free is permanently $0 for up to three users; Growth is $9 per user per month billed annually; Pro is $39 per user per month billed annually and is the current floor for multiple pipelines, dedicated Sales Sequences and native territory management.

Current evidence supports recurring Bigin-versus-Freshsales commercial-investigation intent, but no reliable exact keyword-volume, Google Trends or ChoiceSpec Search Console quantitative series has been established. Demand confidence therefore remains Moderate rather than Strong.

ChoiceSpec recommendations are based on requirements, not affiliate economics. A permanent free plan, a paid plan, a tie, a different covered provider or no suitable covered option are all valid outcomes.
